Was a nice chill new years celebration this year. Spent NYE jamming for my church Ohana at @newhopeleeward then heading out to jam and fellowship with some homies, then back to church on day one to jam music for the church Ohana again and dance ridiculously with the youth ministry Fam. Was an honor to donate some time and jams for my first performance of the year to help a family raise money for a memorial for a beautiful young woman gone too soon. Music is about half of my income but I try to do music as a volunteer for different causes, charities and events throughout the year. About 1/4 of the time I’m playing it’s for love in place of payment. Later this month I’ll have the honor of donating my time for a wedding for a couple who’s father is battling cancer and wasn’t expected to make the original wedding date and wanted to have a special ceremony with him. I don’t have a lot to give but what I do have I give freely with love and Aloha. Whatever God gives us and we give back through, is worth more than money and rewards more than a check ever could.
